What is Salsa?
Salsa translates to sauce. It is a condiment served with chips, nachos, tacos, and probably every Mexican treat we enjoy. The salsa is made with tomatoes, onions, peppers, and chilies. These salsas are flavored with fresh ingredients, by adding cilantro, chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, peaches, mangoes, pineapple, etc. I like to make spicy salsas to go with my nachos and tacos. They not only add vibrant colors to the plate but also is so refreshing to eat. Leftover salsa serves as a perfect condiment, even on salads! They are packed with flavor and taste delicious on everything.
Mango Salsa with Avocados
Mango salsa can be made with both ripe and unripe mangoes. My recipe uses mangoes, tomatoes, onions, green bell peppers, jalapenos, cilantro and avocados. I like to season this salsa with salt, black pepper, and some oregano, finally finishing it with a generous drizzle of lime juice, because it combines all the flavors.

Expert Tips to Make This Recipe
I love using the freshest ingredients to make salsa recipes because fresh produce has a delicious taste and crunch. I highly recommend using good-quality Ataulfo mangoes. The trick is that you let them ripe until its skin becomes orange. You can adjust the amount of jalapenos you add to control how well you tolerate the spice. Add lime juice instead of lemon. The lemon juice adds some sweetness, while I think the limes add the perfect zing to the recipe. If you don’t want to add mangoes, you can make this recipe with peaches too. You can skip avocados, but they add creaminess to the salsa, which is pleasantly delightful. You can add red bell peppers instead of the green ones. Make it an hour ahead of serving. It tastes best when chilled, and the flavors come together deliciously.
Serving Suggestions
Use it as a topping for your taco. I would pair this salsa with sweet potato and black bean tacos. I bet it will taste delicious. You can also add it as a topping for your nachos. Serve it as a side of quesadillas, a burrito bowl, or my taquitos.
Ingredients to Make The Mango Salsa
Mangoes - I recommend using the sweetest Honey/ Ataulfo mangoes. I buy mine from Costco, and let them ripen until the mango skin turns orange. The pulp of the mango is bright orange, and very sweet perfect for this salsa. Veggies and Fruits - For other veggies, I am using a red onion, tomato, green bell pepper, avocados and jalepenos. You can also use red bell pepper instead of the green bell pepper. Make sure you cut all of your veggies finely. Herbs - We will use cilantro to add freshness to the recipe. Lime Juice - Lime juice provides a beautiful zing to the recipe, and compliments the sweetness of the mangoes perfectly. Spices - We will keep it simple, and only add salt, black pepper powder and dried oregano.

- Next finely chop cilantro.
- Add everything to a mixing bowl.
