Eggless Banana Crumb Muffins

The recipe that I have followed with some tweaking is Allrecipes banana crumb muffin recipe which calls for a crunchy crumb topping for the banana muffins. The batter was easy to put together with rewarding results. The banana muffins were soft and moist, cinnamon added a wonderful flavor, the banana and chocolate chips pairing was just perfect and the crunchy sparkling crumb stole the show. Isn’t it amazing that such sorry looking mushy bananas can be transformed into such wonderful treats?...

Fluffy Whole Wheat Waffles

I have to admit, I don’t whip out the waffle maker often. I love buttermilk waffles, pumpkin waffles, and gingerbread waffles, but was looking for something a tad bit healthier using whole wheat flour. I suppose the reason I don’t make waffles often is because they aren’t the healthiest way to begin the day. And aren’t those the rules? Always start healthy? And if I’m going to splurge before 12pm, it’s going to be a plate of overnight cinnamon rolls or doughnuts....

Hot Green Smoothie Week 1 Of My Hot Smoothie Saturday Series For October

I’ve not quite got my scarf and gloves out yet, but the weather is slowly getting colder. In an effort to prepare ahead, I need to start thinking about adjusting my weekday breakfasts – which usually consist of porridge or smoothies. I’ll stick with the porridge, but I’m too nesh for slurping down an ice cold smoothie in the colder months – even if I have just finished a hot & sweaty workout (because I do that every day....

How To Make The Best Apple Sauce

Are you a ‘I’ll just have a spoonful’ apple sauce eater? or a ‘gimme the bowl, I’ll eat it by itself’ apple sauce eater? Please tell me it’s the second option. We love apple sauce at home. I wouldn’t dare make roast pork without it. I admit to testing 3 or 4 spoonfuls whilst the rest of the dinner is cooking, and I basically have to serve it in a soup bowl....

Is Broccolini A Real Vegetable Everyday Flavor Nik Sharma Cooks

I’m being a little playful; honestly, anything can be a vegetable. We eat fruits like tomatoes and eggplant and call them vegetables. Flowers, roots, stems, leaves, etc., can all be vegetables. From a botanist’s view, there is no such thing as a vegetable; that’s a cook’s point of view. The definition of a vegetable is much looser; I think of it as any plant or plant part that is cooked in a savory fashion....

Italian Soppressata Salad Everyday Flavor Nik Sharma Cooks

Crushed fennel seeds and black pepper, combined with the sweet, smoky profile of Kashmiri chilli powder, make the soppressata salad dressing sing with flavor. Soppressa can be used in place of soppressata, and though I haven’t tried it yet, I think salami would also be grand here. And, best of all, it doesn’t have a hard cement-like texture. It won’t break your teeth like other royal icings!
